
Uhuru Gardens
Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum is a commemorative park and museum with a public arena on the sprawling 68 acres piece of land in Lang’ata, in Nairobi, Kenya that celebrates independence from the British Empire in 12 December 1963. The word "uhuru" is Swahili for "freedom". The Gardens, under the management of the Kenya Defence Forces who developed it from scratch in a record 21 months hosts events while the monuments and museum are not yet open to the public.
